Since 1999 Kai has been working as a freelance lighting and set
designer in the UK.
Early in his career he was assistant lighting designer for Davy
Cunningham on European Opera productions and for Wolfgang
Göbbel on Scottish Opera’s Ring Cycle.
A number of Kai's designs have toured internationally, which so far has
given him the opportunity to take his work to theatres in India,
Germany, Canada,
France, the USA, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Hong
Kong.
