C.V. Kai Fischer


Kai has been working in the UK as a freelance lighting designer since 1999. He is now based both in London and Scotland.

Apart from lighting design, he has ventured into creating lighting-based sets and environments for theatre performances.

Earlier in his career Kai was assistant lighting designer for Wolfgang Göbbel on Scottish Opera’s Ring Cycle. He has also re-lit opera productions in Geneva, Oslo and Gothenburg for David Cunningham.

A number of Kai's designs have toured internationally,
which has given him the opportunity to take his work to India, Germany, Canada, France, the USA, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
